Halloween Music and Sound Effects
57Halloween, along with every other major festival or holiday, is celebrated by most Americans. They throw parties, wear costumes, and enjoy special treats and games on All Hallows Eve. And, just as we have particular music to celebrate Christmas, there is also a genre of music that is used to celebrate and accentuate the Halloween experience.
Fortunately, there are numerous CD’s available and websites where you can buy and download music from so you have the perfect soundtrack for your evening.
Different Types of CD's
Not everyone is going to want a CD of
spooky sounds playing in the background of their Halloween party.
Instead, some might prefer to have some actual songs that you and your
guests can sing along to. There are plenty of CD's available that have
some truly memorable songs on them.

The CD ‘Halloween Hits’ is a great one and has 12 well known tracks that are Halloween themed and that most people will instantly remember and be able to sing along to. Hits like the magnificently creepy Monster Mash by Bobby "Boris" Pickett & the Crypt-Kickers, or Purple People Eater sung by Sheb Wooley, and also the unforgettable theme from the Addams Family, that will have everyone snapping their fingers.
If you are looking for something appropriate for children then you might want to check out ‘Kidz Bop: Halloween’ which has 16 tracks that are more than suitable for a kid’s party. You will find the theme from Ghostbusters, Scooby Doo, and the Time Warp on this one.
But if it’s just spooky sound effects that you’re looking for then look no further than ‘Halloween Horrorscapes’. A grim collection of ambient sound and music with titles such as The Headless Horseman and Killing Spree that will add just that right touch of ambience to your evening.
And don’t forget that there are numerous soundtracks from Horror Movies that are available for you to buy, too. Why not decide on a theme for your evening, have everybody dress as appropriate characters (say characters from a slasher movie) and then have the music from John Carpenter’s classic horror movie ‘Halloween’ playing in the background.
Use the Internet
Of course in this digital age you don’t have to buy a CD of Halloween music, you can instead just download the songs and sound effects that you want from a website and, as long as you have a CD burner, you can make your own CD. You don’t even need to have a CD these days, just an MP3 player with compatible sound system or separate speakers. Just search the internet for “Halloween tunes” or “spooky music” and you will find plenty of choices.
You can also download an audio mix or even a video that can play in a loop in a darkened room or hallway.
